How to Order a Custom Floorcloth

At Jarea Art Studio, we specialize in custom floorcloths made to order. From flowers, fruit and geometric shapes to fabric and wallpaper patterns, we will work together with you to create a floor cloth that is truly one-of-a-kind.

For more than 15 years, we have created floorcloths for living rooms, foyers, playrooms, dining rooms and kitchens. Our clients send us wallpaper samples, fabric swatches and paint chips from which we produce one-of-a-kind cloths. We have reproduced historic floorcloth designs and we have designed cloths based on the work of master artists.

Designs:
Let us know if you have any design ideas. If you have a wallpaper sample, fabric swatch, picture from a magazine or even a favorite painting, those can all serve as interesting jumping off points for a floorcloth design. You can also let us know if there are any cloths we have already created that you particularly like - that way we can get a sense of the kind of feeling you are after. Photographs of the location where your cloth will ultimately go are helpful to us during the design process.

Once we have an idea of the type of design and colors you like, we can create a few sketches for you to have a look at. Live far away from the studio? No problem. For our long-distance customers, we communicate design ideas via a "hidden" web page. That way, you can view sketches at your leisure. There is no charge for this step.

Colors:
We hand mix our artist acrylic colors in order to match your existing decor (if you wish). It is therefore helpful for us to see paint chips, fabric swatches or other items which contain the colors you would like to appear in your floorcloth.

Size:
The size of your floorcloth will obviously depend on the space in which it will lay. In order to help you visualize the size, it is helpful to lay newspapers (or masking tape) out on the floor and arrange them into the approximate size you think you need. Then, measure the size (either in inches or feet). If your cloth is to lay beneath a dining table, remember to take into account the space needed to move chairs smoothly in and out from the table.

To convert your measurement into a floorcloth price, multiply length X width X the price per square foot. For round cloths, take the largest measurement (ie a 7 foot round cloth would be 7 x 7 x the price per square foot).

Delivery Time:
Although delivery time will vary depending on the size of the cloth and the intricacy of the design, you can generally expect your cloth between 4 and 8 weeks from time of deposit and order. It can take as long as 4 to 6 months during busy times. Be sure to check with us to see what the current studio schedule is.

Prices:
Each custom floorcloth is priced separately. The price depends on the size and intricacy of the design. Typically, the square foot price is between $28 - $40 USD, with most floorcloths pricing out at $35 USD. As an example, a 4' x 6' floorcloth would be 4 x 6 x $35 = $840.00 USD. Our prices include shipping, to your door, within North America. We can create cloths in many different sizes -- contact us for more details.

Payment:
You may pay by cash, check, VISA®, Mastercard®, American Express®, Paypal® or money order. We generally ask for a 50% deposit to confirm orders with the balance due upon receipt of the cloth.

Shipping:
Shipping fees are included in our per square foot prices. We ship our cloths in round tubes via UPS (in the US) or Same Day Couriers (in Canada) so they will arrive safe and sound, at your door.
